Kael&Kaed Review & Giveaway*CLOSED

Kael&Kaed is a Canadian based company that makes
a wide variety of handmade products for little ones and mamas alike.

From cute bandana bibs to organic belt,
reusable sandwich baggies to handmade jewelry;
{just to name a few}
Everything that Kael&Kaed will surely be of good use.

I recently ordered a medium Kael&Kaed wetbag.
My Kael&Kaed wetbag measures 12x14.
The outer material is cotton, and is available
in over 100 prints and colors.
{Do you know how hard it was to choose?}

The inner layer is a nice durable, thick PUL material
that is far better than any other wetbag I own.
It is not frail or thin like some ''Name brand" wetbags
but not too thick that it takes too long to dry.
I love how the two materials are separate;
This decreases wicking and drying time as well.

The wetbag features a loop handle with a snap,
perfect for hanging on the stroller, changing table
or even around your wrist.

The zipper closure is great as well.
Nice and small, and easy to open and close;
It may seem dainty but looks are deceiving!

It can easily fit 5 to 8 diaper depending on the bulkiness.
I was able to cram 7 one size diapers in!!
AMAZING!
With two kids in diapers that is VERY important in a wetbag.

Kael&Kaed sent me two goodies for review.

First, is an accessory for my daughter's beloved toy, Sophie.
If you don't know about the infamous Sophie, you are truly missing out!
Both of my daughters adore this cute little giraffe but Olivia can't
go anywhere without her dear companion.

So, since Sophie tags along with us almost everywhere..
It's important that we keep her safe!
Kael&Kaed sent us a leash for Sophie.
This leash can of course be used for other toys as well
but around our house its sole purpose is to help
keep up with Sophie at all times.

Made from 100% cotton and measuring about 16" long and 1"wide,
this tether has snaps on each end that created a loop to secure
to a toy, cup, canteen, paci or whatever else you need it to.
Then attach the other end to car seat, highchair, stroller, etc.

I love the bright colorful fabric our Sophie leash came in!
But you can choose whichever fabric you like best.

Last but not least I received a "No More Sag" pant saver belt.

We typically don't need a belt for Lillian
due to her fluffy bum. But now that she
is starting to potty learn and wearing panties
a little during the day her pants/shorts just
don't fit as well.

The Kael&Kaed No More Sag pant saver belt is ingenious!

Most belts are difficult for children to buckle,
when potty learning this is especially important!
The No More Sag belt loops through the loop holes
and snaps in place. The size is very customizable,
so it can be used on children ages 0-6years!

They are made with high quality elastic and kam snaps
Measuring around 10" from end to end undone
Available in white, black or natural plus
the snaps are available is a WIDE variety of colors!
I love the colors that Kael&Kaed chose for ours :)

I am in love with this shop!
I find myself stalking her page just to see what new
exciting items she has in stock.

An Email From a Friend... Just Had To Share!

My Best Friend, Tracey, Who I love and adore
sends me the cutest emails.
This morning I open my email to find this one.
Hope you enjoy is as much as I did!

Biology Class - final exam
Students in an advanced
Biology class were taking their mid-term exam.
The last question was,
'Name seven advantages of Mother's Milk,'

worth 70 points or none at all.
One student, in particular, was hard put to think of seven advantages.
He wrote:
1.) It is perfect formula for the child.
2.) It provides immunity against several diseases.
3.) It is always the right temperature.
4.) It is inexpensive
5.) It bonds the child to mother, and vice versa.

6.) It is always available as needed.

And then, the student was stuck.
Finally, in desperation, just before
the bell indicating the end of the test rang, he wrote...

7.) It comes in 2 cute containers.

He got an A.

:D

LocoMOMomma Review & Giveaway*CLOSED

I love handmade items.
The time, love and energy that are put into each handmade
item is so very special to me.
With my first daughter I never realized that there were
so many small companies that make cute little handmade toys.
I knew people made clothes and other household items but
I naively thought that toys were to be bought in stores.
What a monopoly, eh?

With Olivia, I strive to buy handmade items.
Not just clothes, diapers, accessories but I love giving
her handmade toys.
Buying these not only is better for our children
(What really is in those china-made toys??)
but it supports the WAHM/WAHD and in
turn boosts our economy.

I recently found a wonderful WAHM through Etsy, Jolene.
Jolene's Etsy shop, LocoMOMomma
has the cutest handmade baby toys EVER!

A little about Jolene:
"I grew up on a farm in Iowa and taught myself how
to crochet, embroider, latch-hook, and macrame
(yes, it was the 70's) to fend off boredom.

Fast forward 3 decades, now I'm a mom of 2 youngsters.
I began making amigurumi toys after our first child was born.
As a paranoid first-time mom, I was exceedingly
careful that my toys were baby-safe (NO plastic eyes,
felt pieces, buttons, etc. to worry about baby choking on).
I have continued this practice even now that my kids are beyond the choking age.

I feel that items in my shop represent heirloom quality
baby toys in several "shades of green". I use colorgrown,
organically dyed and non organically dyed
100% organic cotton yarn in different creations
to give my customers a choice of Eco level.

In addition to organic items, I am also passionate
about upcycling and waste reduction
(not waist reduction, that's a whole other ball of wax!).
Frequently I troll my local second-hand
store for unwanted wool sweaters then
felt them and turn them into baby hats
and booties. Revamping discarded things
into baby items that are functional
as well as beautiful brings me endless satisfaction.
I hope I can transfer that joy to those who buy from my shop!"

LocoMOMomma sent me a few adorable toys for my little girls;
A Bunny Head rattle, a pear from her new play food line,
and a Greener Teether and Clutchy set.

The LocoMOMomma bunny head rattle is Olivia's favorite!
It fits great over her chubby wrists and leaves no little indentions.
The little bunny head has a hidden bell,
I love that it is just loud enough;
Not obnoxiously loud like some rattles.
The colors are perfect, and in my
opinion can be worn on a girl or a boy.

The pear with a face is Lillian's favorite!
As soon as I gave it to her she said
"Mommy, This fruit has a FACE!".
Kids are so observant.
The size is perfect, fits wonderfully in Lillian's little hands.

The Rings and Clutchy set has got to be my favorite, silly I know.
The cute little 3 rings are firm enough for Olivia to chew on
but soft enough that they won't hurt.

Lillian chewing on Olive's LocoMOMomma teether. Silly girl!

LocoMOMomma even suggests soaking them in water,
freezing them and letting baby teeth on them!
How awesome is that!
(Olivia was not a fan of them frozen. Go figure)

The matching clutchy can attach to any toy/teether you want.
LocoMOMomma has instructions on her Etsy shop that
really helped me figure it out.
But this is perfect for Olive
who is just figuring out how to toss her toys!

Here's how it works:

"1. Thread Clutchy through ring on toy
2. Insert end of Clutchy through loop.
Pull end so you have a long tail.

3. Tie a single knot in Clutchy tail
--it will stretch a bit if you need more length--
the knot will be too big to fit through the Clutchy loop.
The nubby nature of the yarn prevents the knot from slipping,
yet the knot can be easily undone by an adult. "
"The Clutchy can attach ANY toy, natural wood block teether,
or pacifier with a closed ring
(with an internal diameter larger than 1/2")
to teething rings, strollers, car seats, etc.
You could even loop it through a cloth tag on baby's favorite lovey.
The possibilities are endless!"
Looped through teether and around Olive's wrist
When not in use.. You can form them in the shape of a smiley facey!
My hubby thought this was corny! Men!

I love that ALL of LocoMOMomma's creations
are crocheted with 100% organic cotton.
There are no sharp metal or plastic pieces
that can pinch or break apart.
It's every Eco-friendly mama's dream!

Would you like to try some LocoMOMomma organic
toys for your little one?
 BUY:
LocoMOMomma's organic toys can be purchased at her Etsy shop.
She has so many to choose from.. I'm sure you'll find one for your baby!

Local Media Attention

I had the HONOR of going on a local tv station ABC 24 here in Memphis
Ashley Brummer, the mama behind Crunchy Clean.

It was so nice to be able to spread the word about cloth diapers!
I hope this will be like a little seed in the minds of
Memphians!
For me choosing cloth wasn't about 'Going Green'
or saving money (that was an added benefit)
it was about the health of my girls.
Maybe other mamas (and dads) will see our
segment and they will see they have an option.

(I even had an oppurtunity to plug Crazy 4 Fluff,
although I had NO intention.)

The Great Cloth Diaper Change 2011

I can't believe there is only TEN more days until
The Great Cloth Diaper Change 2011!
I am stocked!
I am co-hosting the local event here in Memphis, Tennessee
along with our local cloth diaper group, Cloth Diaper Memphis
and Crunchy Clean.

I have mentioned before that I live in a city that
is known for it's lack of education on going green,
we don't even have a brick & mortar!
So this event means so much to us hosts:
Ashley, Amanda, Rachel and myself,
and the other mamas that are planning to attend.

We originally thought it would be a long shot
to gather enough babies, 25, to meet the required amount
to be included in the Guinness(tm) record;
But as of today we have 68 registered!
How phenomenal!

Not only have we gathered a great group of mamas
to join us on Earth day to change some diapers
but we have gained a LONG list of
wonderfully generous sponsors, some local and some nationally
and even some international companies!

We will hand out a Swag bag to the first 50 mamas
included in each bag is:

Samples from:
Crunchy Clean Detergent
Otherlands Coffee
Yester Year Soap
SewOrganicCreations (local Etsy)
SewBrookstone (local Etsy)
Catherine Wiggins, independent Scentsy consultant
Country Jewel coupons (local Etsy)
Grandma Els
Monkey Snuggles Cloth Wipes
Bummas Cloth Wipes
Earth Mama Angel Baby
Plum Organics
Babylegs
Earthly Remedies by Erin
My Precious Kids Coupons
Monkey Snuggles Coupons
Boba/Sleepy wrap brouchures
Earth Day Coloring books from the EPA
AND MORE

We are also having a raffle to raise money to donate
to the Real Diaper Association and cover an additional
expenses we may have from our event.
Some items included in the raffle:

Crunchy Clean gift baskets
Yester Year Soap Company gift baskets
SewOrganicCreations (local Etsy)
SewBrookstone gift basket (local Etsy)
Billy Moore Folk Art piece - clothesline with cloth diapers
Ta Lula Knits (local Etsy)
Audrey's Closet Designs (local Etsy)
Country Jewel (local Etsy) Amber Teething Necklace
Fuzzibunz diapers - straight from Fuzzibunz
Fuzzibunz diapers - sponsored by Crunchy Clean
Monkey Snuggles diaper
Designer Changing Pad - Planetwise/BestBottoms
Bag Your Snack pack - Planetwise/BestBottom
Boba 2g carrier
AND MORE

I am so amazed at how this event is shaping up
and I can only imagine how much fun it is going to be
not just this year but for many more to come!

Are you attending The Great Cloth Diaper Change?
Help us set a record!!

Envibum Review & Giveaway*CLOSED

Envibum is a cloth diaper company that is dedicated not only
to the health of babies bums but to giving back to those less fortunate.
It is their mission and drive to help those in need.
For every purchase made through Envibum
they donate Food for the Hungry, Salvation Army,
Living Water International, Crisis Pregnancy Center and more!
(See 'Giving Back' on Envibum for full list)

Such an amazing company, unlike any I have ever heard of.
Of course they can not reach or help everyone but the ones they
do help so many lives.

"There are also many moms and babies,
right here in our community in need.
While there are many organizations that struggle to
find a way to help moms meet other needs of daily life,
we feel that we, as moms, can partner together to meet their diapering needs."
-Quote from Envibum

I've has the privilege of reviewing for this wonderful company.
not only is their mission outstanding
but the customer service is superb.
from the very first time I spoke with Envibum,
I was greeted with love.
This deep love for people shows in their work and actions!

The Envibum is an All-in-One, one size diaper.
This is the first diaper I have ever seen that is truly one size.
There is no snapping down to adjust the rise, or fiddling with
elastic to adjust the thigh or waist.
I was a bit perplexed at first but it really is pretty simple.
Just put it on and go...

The elastic in the thigh and waist is super stretchy.
It seems like this diaper would only fit itty bitty babies
but even my two year fit it, it stretches to the size needed.
The weight range is from 8lbs to 40lbs,
Rise: 13” - 19”, Waist: 9” - 25”, Leg: 6” - 17”.

The Envibum is an All-in-one but does have a pocket
that could easily fit extras.

The soaker folded down into the pocket
which significantly decreases drying time.
Envibum also has an additional absorbency pad that is optional
but can be placed on top of the diaper
or inside for a near bulletproof system!
Envibum also suggests flipping out the
soaker (absorbency pad) that is attached,
so that the waffle like inner material isn't directly on the skin.
This is optional but I found to like it much more.

The inner material is 100% unbleached cotton
with waffle like absorbency 'panels'.
The outer material used is an ultra soft minky.
(Love it)

Waffle textured inner

The closure is a velcro touch tape that is extremely strong!
The wings can cross over for even the smallest of waists.

Leaf like Velcro applique <3

I love the little leaf applique (newborn size adjuster).
Fold in wash tabs

There are also laundry tabs to fold down the closure while in the wash.

Rainbow of Envibums

The Envibum diaper is available in a beautiful rainbow of colors.
I received their Envipolka- the green and white polka dot
but they have several others to choose from.

Envibum diaper and extra absorbency pad

Like I mentioned before, with every Envibum diaper purchased
they give to a certain charity, depending on the color you choose.

Lillian in the Envibum diaper. She was pouting! lol.

Olivia trying to crawl in her Envibum!

The Envibum diaper works great on BOTH of my little girls.
I was, and still am, amazed at how the fit is equally as great
without adjusting ANYTHING.

The elastic in the waist and thighs is so stretchy;
perfect for Olivia's chunky belly and thighs but it
fits Lillian good too.
The velcro closure is very strong and durable,
They stay securely closed even on my
rambunctious two year old, Lillian.
The Envibum diaper is very absorbent and we had NO wicking issue
at all.. Even after Lillian wore while napping.
My 32lb+ 2.5yr old in the Envibum
My 18lb+ 5month old in the Envibum

My only dislike it the inner material design;
The waffle like texture seemed to 'grab' poo
and was very difficult to clean.

Even after washing, there was still poo fragments stuck.
I had to run an addition rinse on it and hang it out in the sun to get the stain out.
But after a very short time in the sun, the stain was gone.

Sunning out a stain

It also left the checker pattern impression on my baby's bums
but once I flipped the soaker on and placed it over the textured part
this was no longer an issue.
If I were to suggest any changes at all, the only one would be to
re-do the texture of the inner.
Other than that I am head-over-heals for this diaper.

Along with the Envibum diaper I was sent the cutest little
Envileaf luvie. This little lovie has a link on one end
so little ones can keep it in hand. It is super soft,
made from leftover minky scraps and has a hidden
crinkle paper that babies LOVE.
(Ok, I admit.. I do to)

Lillian and Olivia LOVE the luvie!

I am in love with this company and their diapers!
I can't rave more about the outstanding mission.
It is truly heartwarming to find people
who care so much about others.

"He that does not love has not come to know God,
because God is love"
1 John 4:8
