When I started my research on cloth diapering at the beginning of last year,
I quickly became overwhelmed by the WIDE variety of cloth diapers.
I was so overwhelmed that it took me 6months to commit to cloth.


Not only were there so many brands to choose 
from but so many different types.

After analyzing the pros and cons of other cloth
diapering systems, Nicki decided to weed out the
cons and use all the pros to create Best Bottom.

Best Bottom prides itself on how economical and simple
their system is.

Best Bottom is made up of two separate components;

a waterproof cover and a snap-in liner/insert.

3 large Best Bottom inserts and Pink Giraffe Cover

 The waterproof covers is One Size and is available

in either snap or aplix closure.

It is made from a super thick

and sturdy PUL material.

The front of the cover has several rows of snap

to adjust the rise of the diaper, fitting babies

from birth to over 35lbs.

The waist and legs have a nice stretchy elastic.

The thigh features a double leg gusset to help keep any mess contained.

The inner part of the diaper has two snaps, 

made to snap in the front and back of the insert.

This keeps the insert from slipping and "bunching" up.

The Best Bottom inserts are available in three different sizes,

Small: birth-14lbs, Medium: 11-22lbs, Large: 16-35lbs,

because there is a BIG size difference in a newborn and a toddler!

Best Bottom inserts are available in two different materials, 

Stay Dry or Hemp/Organic Cotton insert.

I love the Best Bottom system.

Each cover can be used several times in a row

as long as it does not become soiled.

Just simply toss the dirty insert in the diaper pail, 

wipe out the cover, and snap-in a clean insert. Voila!

The Best Bottom diaper fit Lillian great.

Unlike other cover/insert diapers, 

the Best Bottom insert stayed in place and

the cover is nice and thick!

The thighs fit securely and left no gap.

It is super trim and has a low rise that rest well below her naval.
Lillian is very tall so her rise is extremely high so I assume the
rise would be much better on a smaller child.

The cover has stretchy elastic in the thighs and waist

but the cover itself is a bit 'stiff'.

This wasn't an issue with a fit on Lilly but a bit on Olivia.

With Lillian the absorbency was fabulous.

We were able to make each insert last about 2.5hours 

or at least a full sippy cup worth.. ;)

She loved the pink giraffe print too!

I was not as impressed with the Best Bottom on Olive.

Since the cover doesn't have much give, it was a bit

of a struggle to get it around her chunky belly.

Even after getting it as secure as possible there

was a small gap in the back of the diaper.

Most days we have a general routine.

While I fix Lillian's lunch I put Olivia in her "exerciser".

The day we test Best Bottom was no different than others;

I changed Olivia's diaper, put her in her "exerciser" to play

and then walked into the kitchen to prepare lunch.

Only a few minutes passed and I returned to find 

a strange yellowish orange substance on the carpet underneath Olivia.

Yep... She had a huge explosive BF poo... and Best Bottom just couldn't contain it!

So, note to self: 

"Don't put Olivia in her exerciser while in a NEW diaper!

Other than our little poop fiasco, I am very pleased with Best Bottom! 

Super easy to use. Economical. Completely reusable.

I wish I had known about this diaper in the beginning!

It would have saved me a ton of frustration and confusion
